About JAA

The Jackson Astronomical Association is a non-profit organization composed of members with an interest in astronomy or space-related sciences. Membership is open to any interested person. Regular yearly dues are $30.00 due on January 1st. Dues are pro-rated to the end of the year ($2.50 per month). If any additional information is desired, please don’t hesitate to contact a JAA officer.

Monthly observing sessions at the Butts-Clark Observatory are usually held on the weekend(s) nearest each new moon phase. This is subject to change due to inclement weather or special celestial events. Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:15 PM Pearl Public Library, 2416 Old Brandon Rd, Pearl, MS 39208.
